3D ScanningServices

3D Scanning is the technology of capturing the physical shape and dimensions of real-world objects and converting them into three-dimensional models. Our 3D Scanning services can help you capture intricate details of your parts with precision and accuracy and provide you with a 3D Printing model ready to be printed.

Steps to ReverseEngineer Your Parts

  1. DATA ACQUISITION
  • 3D Scanning: We use one of our professional high-quality 3D scanners (structured light, laser, etc.) based on the object’s size, complexity, and desired accuracy to capture the geometry of the physical object.
  • Manual Measurement: For intricate details or hard-to-scan areas, we further take manual measurements with calipers, micrometers, or coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
  1. DATA PROCESSING

We process your 3D scanned data to meet the specific requirements of your application.

  • Scan Registration: Alignment and merge multiple scans into a single point cloud if necessary.
  • Noise Reduction: Remove unwanted noise and outliers from the scan data.
  • Meshing: Convert the point cloud into a triangular mesh representing the object’s surface.
  • Surface Editing: Clean up the mesh, fill in holes, and smooth imperfections.
  1. MODEL RECONSTRUCTION

We further optimize the 3D model to identify and extract geometric features like planes, cylinders, and spheres from the mesh.

  • Segmentation: Divide the mesh into distinct parts based on function or material.
  • Solid Modeling: Create a solid 3D model from the extracted features and segments using dedicated reverse engineering software.
  1. MODEL VALIDATION

Finalize your 3D model. We compare the digital model to the original object and check for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall functionality. We test the model’s performance under different conditions to ensure it meets design requirements.

  1. DOCUMENTATION & OUTPUT

Your 3D model has been completed and is ready for 3D Printing. We can create engineering drawings from the 3D model for manufacturing or documentation purposes and choose formats compatible with your preferred CAD software or other applications.

  1. PROTOTYPING & FINAL PART PRODUCTION

Testing and finalizing your part for 3D Printing production.
