SCANOLOGY NimbleTrack Gen2Wireless scanning, no markers.

A wireless handheld scanner followed by a portable optical tracker. We measure large parts and assemblies without sticking markers to them.

Large parts,measured where they stand.

The optical tracker follows the wireless scanner in real time, so one operator can move freely around the object. Scanner-only and tracked modes cover everything from fine detail to large assemblies.

Why we use it

  • Truly wireless. One-person operation, with no cable between scanner and tracker.
  • Marker-free. No reference targets stuck to the part, so set-up is faster and surfaces stay clean.
  • Large-range accuracy. Adaptive photogrammetry holds volumetric performance over bigger measurement ranges.
  • Field-ready. A portable set-up for shop-floor and on-site work.

What it bringsto measurement.

Wireless capture, optical tracking and photogrammetry in one portable system.

Truly wireless operation

On-board processing, battery power and wireless data transfer reduce set-up constraints.

Marker-free tracking

The optical tracker follows the scanner directly, for agile measurement of different part sizes.

Adaptive photogrammetry

Integrated photogrammetry maintains volumetric accuracy across larger ranges.

Two capture modes

Scanner-only mode for fine detail, tracked mode for large parts and assemblies.

What we scanwith it.

Large, heavy or assembled parts that are impractical to move to a measuring room.

NimbleTrack scanning a vehicle body on a stand

Large panels and bodies

Measure large panels and tooling without placing markers on the surface.

NimbleTrack measuring a heavy cast industrial component

Heavy industrial components

Move around heavy castings and housings with a wireless set-up.

NimbleTrack scanning a structure with rows of holes

Assembly position and fit

Check how parts sit in their assembly, in context and in place.

Deformation analysis

Track dimensional change over time during engineering analysis.

The numbers behind it.Manufacturer specifications.

Values published by SCANOLOGY for the NimbleTrack Gen2. What a specific part achieves depends on its geometry, surface, access and alignment.

What you get.Data ready for the next step.

A mesh, a parametric model, a drawing and an inspection report do different jobs. Choose the output and we scope the scan around it.

Processed scan mesh

A cleaned, registered mesh of the measured surface: the record of the part as it is.

Parametric CAD of the oil cooler housing rebuilt from the scan

Parametric CAD and drawings

Editable solids rebuilt from the scan, with 2D drawings so any supplier can make and check the part.

Deviation report

The scan aligned to your CAD and coloured by deviation, with callouts on the features you care about.

How it fitsour scanning workflow.

Scope first, then capture. Agreeing the output before we scan keeps the data useful, and the model can go straight to our printers.

  1. Define the output

Tell us what the part does, which features are critical and whether you need a mesh, CAD, drawings or a report.

  2. Quote and scope

We confirm the NimbleTrack Gen2 is the right scanner, agree coverage and deliverables, and send price and date.

  3. Scan with the NimbleTrack Gen2

We prepare the surface where needed, capture overlapping views, then align and clean the data.

  4. Model, check and deliver

We rebuild or compare, check against the agreed features and send the files, or go straight to print.

Anything else? See all FAQs

When do you use NimbleTrack instead of HandySCAN?

For large parts, assemblies and surfaces where markers are impractical. HandySCAN suits smaller components and on-site work up to around 4 m; SIMSCAN suits fine features.

Do you need to put markers on my part?

No. The optical tracker follows the scanner directly, so the surface stays clean and set-up is faster.

How large a part can you measure?

The tracker works at up to 4.2 m. SCANOLOGY states volumetric accuracy of 0.059 mm at 3.5 m and 0.072 mm at 4.2 m for the E Gen2 configuration.

Which file formats can you supply?

Scan data in STL, OBJ, PLY, ASC, IGS and other formats, or a rebuilt CAD model and deviation report if you need one.
